Teach For Sierra Leone Joins Partners to Celebrate World Environment Day 2026

On 5th June 2026, Teach For Sierra Leone, in collaboration with Freetown Innovation Lab and other partners, commemorated World Environment Day at Lumley Beach under the theme “Inspired by Nature: For Climate. For Our Future.”

The celebration featured a beach clean-up exercise from Aberdeen to Lumley Beach, climate change awareness campaigns, environmental education, and the official launch of a Beach Recycling Station. Participants, including TFSL Fellows, community members, youth, government representatives, and development partners, came together to promote environmental stewardship and collective action against plastic pollution.

Beyond Freetown, Teach For Sierra Leone Fellows across the country marked the day through Climate Club activities, community sensitization, tree planting, and initiatives promoting sustainable living.
